Our commitment to quality

Every piece of content on Compare Your Funding is written and reviewed by Mark Hagan, Managing Director and co-founder since 2013, with over a decade of experience helping UK businesses find the right funding. Technical guides are reviewed by Jamie Grimshaw, our Commercial Finance Director and a Chartered Banker with 23 years at RBS/NatWest.

We aim to provide clear, accurate, and genuinely useful information that helps business owners understand their funding options - without jargon, without sales pressure, and without bias towards any particular product or provider.

How our content is written

We follow an editorial standard modelled on government-backed business support resources. Every guide:

  • Uses plain English throughout - we avoid jargon and technical language wherever possible.
  • Presents both the benefits and risks of every funding option fairly and even-handedly.
  • Uses hedged, non-advisory language ("could", "may", "it's worth noting") - we never tell you what to do.
  • Recommends that you seek independent professional advice before making financial decisions.
  • Includes a clear disclaimer stating that our content is for general information only.

How our content is reviewed

Every guide on the site is reviewed by Mark Hagan at least annually to ensure it remains accurate and up to date. Each page displays the date it was last reviewed.

If we become aware of a material change - for example, a regulatory update or a significant shift in market conditions - we will update the relevant content as soon as possible.

Independence

Our editorial content is produced independently of any commercial relationships. The providers mentioned in our guides are included for educational purposes and do not pay for inclusion.
